Facing the Spider - DOOM 2016

Acrylic Painting I worked on from the end of 2017 into the start of 2018 featuring characters from DOOM (2016). Acrylic paint on 22"x28" canvas.

The primary focus with this piece (aside from featuring the Doom Slayer and the Spider Mastermind) was to attempt to make a more visually striking large-scale piece than my previous attempts (especially compared to my Doom Slayer+Daisy portrait, which I felt was very flat).

In the end I was satisfied with the end result from a technical and visual standpoint (I was able to get most of the details looking the way I wanted them to), but I feel the composition/overall flow of the painting, as well as the posing of the Doom Slayer, could have been more interesting. Something I'll be working on in future pieces.
