Arwork Based on Inktober 2018 Prompts
This was my first time participating in Inktober, and it felt good to get back to using inks again after not using them for a few years.
I set out to do all 31 days despite not having as much time (or markers) as I'd like, so some of these are incomplete and many of these aren't as polished as I would have liked. I knew doing all 31 would be rough, but I wanted to do it all at least once. Next year I'll likely only do some days.
All of these are on 9"x12" paper. Most are done with ink, but some are done with pencils or shaded digitally. Note: Not affiliated with the official Inktober brand. Just done for fun.
Day 1: That winged demon from DOOM Eternal, its attacks seem to fit the prompt of today (Poisonous). I wonder what these demons are called.
Day 2: Tranquil - Some Golden Sun today, one of my favorite games. Based on the part in Kolima Forest, which has an incredibly relaxing musical track.
Day 3: Roasted - The Arch-vile (DOOM Eternal version). Roasted countless Doomguys throughout the years.
Day 4: Spell - A cursed mage, his body forever marked by the runes of a wicked spell.
Day 5: Chicken- Cacodemon + Chicken = Cluckodemon?
Day 6: Drooling - A really hungry werewolf.
Day 7: Exhausted - Made for rapha for his win in the PGL Quake Champions Duel Tournament.
Day 8: Star - As he clutched the shard of a fallen star, he heard whispers of the cosmos. In time these whispers grew into a howling roar, warping his body and mind forever.
Day 9: Precious - Daisy, the rabbit from DOOM. What could be more precious than her?
Day 10: Flowing - A temple from which the waters of life flow eternal, and a foolish adventurer who seeks to claim it for himself. (Shaded digitally.)
Day 11: Cruel - Olivia Pierce + the Spider Mastermind from DOOM 2016. (Shaded digitally due to lack of time.)
Day 12: Whale - The Wind Fish from Link's Awakening. (Shaded digitally.)
Day 13: Guarded - One of the Hell Guards from DOOM.
Day 14: Clock
Day 15: Weak - A chibi/SD Possessed from DOOM.
Day 16: Angular - Tried making an airship based on the Doom Slayer's armor in DOOM Eternal. It's a bit goofy looking but I had fun making it.
Day 17 - Didn't feel like following the prompt ("Swollen") and didn't have much time today anyway, so I made a quick doodle of Doom Slayer tearing through a demon with his new Doom Blade.
Day 18: Bottle - This one was fun to do. Inspired by the item images in Bloodborne.
Day 19: Scorched - The ancient blade of the cursed king, its surfaced scorched black by its eternally-burning flame.
Day 20: Breakable - A little comic that references events in DOOM 2016.
Day 21: Drain - A wicked insect that drains its prey of all their blood, leaving a trail of desiccated corpses in its wake.
Day 22: Expensive - This prompt reminded me of that Cyberdemon statue that was announced, and how I can't afford it. So I drew a Cyberdemon.
Day 23: Muddy - As part of its earliest training, the apprentice piglet mage seeks out a mud pond at the edge of the forbidden forest to brew its piggy potions. The quality of the mud is important, as it dictates the strength of the potion.
Day 24: Chop - The Marauder from DOOM Eternal doing a mighty chop with his Crucible axe. Had to rush it, unfortunately.
Day 25: Prickly - A very spiky hedgehog knight.
Day 26: Stretch - The baleful dragon, an envoy of imminent destruction. The sight of its black wings outstretched, enwreathing the eclipsed sun, is sure to be among one's final memories.
Day 27: Thunder
Day 28: Gift - IamFortyLions as Cheeseburger Santa. I'm sure his gifts of delicious cheeseburgers are beloved by those who receive them.
Day 29: Double (+Barrel, in this case.) - Unfinished sketch using the Slayer's Super Shotgun from DOOM Eternal.
Day 30: Jolt - A Shambler from Quake - these baddies will definitely give you a nasty jolt with their lightning.
Day 31 - Today's prompt was Slice, but since I did that already for day 17, I decided to do something that fit Halloween. What better than a dooting Revenant?
